Can’t-Miss Post Falls Christmas Traditions

Every year, winter weather turns Post Falls into a Christmas wonderland. It’s hard not to get into the holiday spirit when you live in an area as beautiful as we do! No matter how cold it may be outside, there are some holiday traditions in the area that just can’t be missed this season. Get in the spirit with these fun events chosen by the staff at Mainstream Electric, Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing!

  • Tiny Tree Festival

Join the Tiny Tree Auction & Brunch on Saturday, December 2nd for a morning perusing tiny trees and wreaths creatively decorated by members of our community that will be up for auction. Enjoy a delicious brunch prepared by Chef Nicklaus, including a mimosa bar!

  • Pickin’ Christmas Vintage Show and Artisan Market

The perfect place to stock up on all your vintage Christmas décor and gifts this holiday! On Saturday and Sunday, December 2nd and 3rd the market will be set up at the Greyhound Park and Events Center. For details check out their website.

  • 2017 Annual Candy Cane Run

On Wednesday, December 6th, Kootenai County Fire & Rescue will be bringing Santa on a fire truck through neighborhoods giving candy canes to residents. They will also be accepting donations of food for the Post Falls Food Bank, toys for Toys for Tots and cash for Christmas for All. Check online for Santa’s route here.

  • Traditions of Christmas

This December enjoy a Radio City Music Hall style show that inspires the hearts of audience members of all ages. With USO performances to honor our military and Christmas classics brought to life with song and dance, it is a Post Falls experience you don’t want to miss!

  • 10th Annual Santa’s Breakfast

Adults and kids alike won’t want to miss this breakfast with Santa! On December 10, 2017, Mira Beau Park Hotel will be hosting a breakfast buffet, hot chocolate bar for kids, and a mimosa bar for adults. Breakfast and hot chocolate are free for children under 12.

  • 36th Annual Hospice Annual Tree Lighting

Join Hospice of North Idaho in an evening of music, peaceful reflection and community to remember loved ones. There will be a tree lighting at each of their locations on Tuesday, December 12th and Wednesday, December 13th.

  • 2017 Holidays and Heroes

Donations are now being accepted for this amazing event where Police officers and Firefighters volunteer their time to help families who are less fortunate. They use the donations to take the children shopping for the day for Christmas presents and to meet Santa Clause. Go here for more information.

  • Ski with Santa at Silvermountain Ski resort!

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, get the holiday started by joining Santa on the slopes. After, join them at Noah’s for a Christmas feast.

  • The Polar Bear Plunge/ A Reason for Freezen

Every year on New Year’s Day the good people of Coeur d’Alene meet to do the Polar Bear Plunge on Sanders Beach. Donations such as socks, blankets, towels, toiletries, and shoes will be collected on behalf of St. Vincent DePaul of North Idaho.
