VENTILATION FAN INSTALLATION & REPAIR
Mainstream Can Install or Repair any Ceiling, Exhaust, or Attic Fan
Fans all operate on the same basic principle, moving air in a room. Ceiling fans circulate air inside a room to keep its occupants cool, exhaust fans circulate air outside of a room to remove heat, and attic fans help to regulate heat within an attic. It doesn’t matter where the fan is; Mainstream Electric, Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing has the skills necessary to fix it.
Attic and exhaust fans are fairly common, though they remain out of sight of most homeowners. Your attic fans push heat out of the attic while drawing cooler air in through the vents. This regulates the temperature within the attic, acting as a neutral temperature buffer to help reduce the load on your air conditioner. Exhaust fans act in exactly the same way, but they cool the house instead of the attic.
Ceiling fans, contrary to popular belief, do not cool down rooms. Instead they cool down people in a room by convection. As air passes over the skin, heat is removed from an object, cooling it down. A ceiling fan can only work with the temperature that’s currently in the room, as circulating air within a room does not cool the room itself down. An added benefit for ceiling fans is that they distribute cold or warm air around a room. By circulating the air, cold or warm pockets on the floor or ceiling are redistributed, and the overall temperature of the room equalizes.
